Your design vocabulary

Two core techniques. One optional accent.

The strongest doors are not the most complicated. They use a limited vocabulary with clear proportion, intentional grain direction and enough restraint for the timber to remain the hero.

Important: The examples below are references, not fixed templates. Every design is redrawn around the actual door size, veneer availability and technical limitations.

Core technique

Groove Lines

Straight routed lines add rhythm without changing the natural veneer character. They may run vertically, horizontally or diagonally, subject to approved width, depth, spacing and edge clearances.

Best for linear, minimal and asymmetrical compositions.

Core technique

Bookmatched Veneer

Adjacent veneer leaves are opened like a book to create a mirrored grain composition. This can form chevrons, diamonds or a continuous centre pattern across single or double leaves.

Natural grain is selected and composed, never mechanically repeated.

Optional addition

Laminate Accents

Approved laminate strips or panels can divide, frame or highlight the composition. They work best as restrained straight elements that support the veneer rather than overwhelm it.

Final colour and width follow available samples and technical review.

From idea to approved drawing

One door. Five decisions.

Follow the sequence instead of starting with decoration. It keeps the final design coherent, proportionate and buildable.

Choose the configuration

Start with single leaf, double leaves or an oversized entrance. The opening dimensions control every design decision that follows.

Select the veneer character

Choose a light, medium or dark timber direction, then decide whether the grain should feel calm, expressive or strongly symmetrical.

Build the composition

Use groove lines, bookmatching, or a considered combination of both. Keep the design legible from a distance.

Add an accent

Introduce an approved laminate or timber insert only where it strengthens the proportion or creates a useful visual break.

Approve the shop drawing
